Your tour begins at Portland Port. Upon disembarking your ship and making your way down the gangway, you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly guides, who will be waiting at the bottom holding a clearly visible ‘DORSET EXPLORE’ sign displaying your name for easy identification.

Question 3

What time do your excursions start?

Accepted Answer

All excursion schedules are coordinated with your ship's arrival and departure times to ensure a smooth experience. Your exact tour start time will be confirmed by email and text approximately 2 weeks before your excursion date.

We carefully monitor all bookings and will not depart without accounting for our guests. For private tours, start times can be tailored to accommodate your preferred schedule.

Question 4

Do you pick up from the port?

Accepted Answer

Yes.

Question 5

Do you use guides or just drivers?

Accepted Answer

All excursions are fully guided. Our guides are expertly trained in the Jurassic Coast and the wider Dorset area, providing them with in-depth knowledge of this distinctive region.

Question 6

How do your excursions work?

Accepted Answer

At each destination along the Jurassic Coast, your guide will give a brief introduction to the location, highlighting its history, geology, and key points of interest. You will then have time to explore independently before rejoining the group and continuing to the next stop.

Please be aware that visiting the coastline requires a moderate amount of walking, and some areas may include uneven or natural terrain.

Question 7

When do we get back to the ship?

Accepted Answer

Ensuring that you return to your ship on time is our highest priority. We schedule all excursions to arrive back at the port at least one hour before your ship's planned departure time.

Should your available time ashore be shortened for any reason, we may modify the itinerary accordingly to guarantee a timely and worry-free return to the ship.

Question 8

What if our ship cannot dock?

Accepted Answer

We highly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance before your trip. This policy is designed to help reduce the impact of unexpected disruptions while allowing us to recover a portion of the costs incurred in planning and preparing your tour.
